With the win, GT, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings, all three booked spots for themselves in the IPL 2025 playoffs. KL Rahul played a special knock, helping DC post 199 for 3 in 20 overs after the side got an invitation to bat first. Rahul scored 112 not out in 65 balls with the help of 14 fours and 4 sixes. He stitched a 90-run partnership with Abishek Porel (30 off 19) for the second wicket after DC were reduced to 16 for 1 in 3.2 overs. In reply, GT made mockery of the total as Gill (93 not out in 53 balls) and Sudharsan (108 not out in 61 balls) stitched an unbeaten 205-run partnership to seal the game and the playoff spot for the side .
