Delhi Assembly Session to Begin on February 24, Newly Elected MLAs to Take Oath

New Delhi, February 22, 2025 – The first session of the newly elected Delhi Legislative Assembly will commence on February 24 and continue until February 27. The session will begin with the swearing-in of all newly elected MLAs, followed by the election of the Assembly Speaker.

According to official sources, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report will be presented on February 25. This report had been a major point of contention during the election campaign, particularly among BJP leaders, who accused the Delhi government of financial irregularities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also frequently referenced this report in his election speeches, vowing that it would be presented as a priority in the first session of the new government.

Due to Guru Ravidas Jayanti on February 26, the Assembly session will be adjourned for the day. The budget session and discussions on key legislative matters are expected to take place in the following weeks.

With the new government set to begin its tenure, all eyes are on the upcoming session, where crucial policy decisions and debates are likely to shape Delhi’s governance in the coming years.
