Instructions:

1. Prepare the Ingredients: Wash the rice and soak it in water for 10 minutes. Drain and keep aside.


2. Sauté the Aromatics: Heat oil in a pan or pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.


3. Cook the Chicken: Add ginger paste, garlic, and green chili. Stir for a few seconds, then add the chicken pieces. Cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn white.


4. Add Spices and Tomato: Mix in turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir well, then add the chopped tomato. Cook until the tomatoes turn soft.


5. Combine Rice and Cook: Add the soaked rice and mix everything well. Pour in 1 cup of water, cover, and cook for about 10 minutes on low heat until the rice is fully cooked. If using a pressure cooker, cook for 1 whistle.
