Hyderabad Tragedy: 17 Dead, Including 8 Children, in Gulzar Houz Fire Near Charminar

Hyderabad, May 18, 2025 —Hyderabad Fire Accident News: As many as 17 people were killed in a massive fire that broke out near Charminar in Hyderabad in the early hours of Sunday.

The fire broke out in a jewellery store adjacent to Charminar. According to fire officials, the fire originated in the ground floor of the three-storey building which housed the jewellery store. A short circuit is believed to have caused the fire, according to the preliminary investigation.

Responding to the incident, Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K T Rama Rao wrote, “Extremely shocked and pained!! Details emerging out of Gulzar House fire tragedy in Old City are very sad. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the tragedy. Wishing a speedy recovery to those injured. Hoping and praying that this fire will be contained very soon”. Meanwhile, BJP state president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy claimed the number of casualties rose because fire tenders were late to reach the spot.
