Operation Sindoor: A Swift and Decisive Response to Terrorism
India’s Operation Sindoor successfully eliminated over 100 terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) through a precision airstrike. Using SCALP missiles and HAMMER bombs, the 25-minute operation targeted nine terror camps, including those of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, linked to major attacks like the 2019 Pulwama bombing. The aim was to dismantle terrorist infrastructure while minimizing civilian casualties.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed the opposition, highlighting that the operation was part of India’s ongoing strategy against cross-border terrorism. He assured that while India does not seek further escalation, the military is prepared for retaliation if Pakistan provokes additional violence. Singh also emphasized that no Pakistani military targets were hit during the operation.
In addition to the military strike, India has taken non-military measures, such as suspending certain visas and halting the Indus Waters Treaty. While cross-border firing continues, the Indian military has maintained a proportionate response. The opposition expressed full support for the government’s stance, but tensions remain high as Pakistan’s next move is uncertain.
