PM Modi: India Will Not Tolerate Nuclear Blackmail, Terrorism Must End

In his first address to the nation following the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear that India has redrawn its strategy in response to terrorism emanating from Pakistan. Speaking on Monday night, Modi emphasized that Operation Sindoor represents a new standard in India’s counter-terror efforts and serves as a clear message: any act of terror against India will provoke a strong and decisive response.

Modi underscored that India would no longer differentiate between Pakistan’s government and the terrorist groups it harbors. “This is not just an era where war is outdated,” he said, “it’s also a time when terrorism cannot be accepted in any form.” The Prime Minister warned Pakistan that its continued support for terrorism would ultimately backfire, stating, “The terror it supports today will one day be its downfall.”

He dedicated the success of Operation Sindoor to the women of India—mothers, sisters, and daughters—and praised the courage of the Indian armed forces. “Our soldiers have acted with remarkable bravery. Their actions are a tribute to the nation’s women, whose sindoor (vermilion) symbolizes dignity and justice. The operation is a solemn vow to uphold justice,” he said.

The Prime Minister recounted the tragic killings in Pahalgam, where innocent civilians were targeted based on their religion. Calling it a deeply painful incident, he said it was a deliberate attempt to shatter the country’s unity. Following this, the armed forces were granted full freedom to dismantle the terror infrastructure.

He pointed to the swift and powerful response by India, which he claimed left Pakistan reeling. “Pakistan tried to retaliate by targeting civilian and religious sites in India, but their drones and missiles were no match for our defense systems. Our forces struck deep into their territory, disabling air bases and destroying terrorist hubs in just three days,” Modi said. “Their pride was crushed, and they were forced to appeal to the global community to de-escalate the situation.”

On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, Modi invoked Lord Buddha’s teachings on peace, stating, “The path to peace is not a sign of weakness, but of strength.” He reiterated that any future dialogue with Pakistan would center only on terrorism and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). “Terrorism and talks, terror and trade—these cannot happen together. Water and blood cannot flow side by side,” he asserted.

The Prime Minister concluded by highlighting India’s success in targeting key terror strongholds, including those in Muridke and Bahawalpur—described as breeding grounds for international terrorism. He said over a hundred dangerous terrorists were neutralized in the strike, sending a clear message that India will take all necessary measures to protect its people and sovereignty.
