In a highly anticipated virtual launch event, Samsung has officially taken the wraps off its latest addition to the Galaxy S series the Galaxy S25 Edge. As the slimmest phone in the series to date, the S25 Edge brings a completely mix of premium design, flagship specs, and AI-powered software features.
The standout feature of the device is its 6.7-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display, which boasts a smooth 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. The titanium frame contributes to its ultra-thin profile of just 5.8mm, making it remarkably sleek and lightweight at 163 grams, all while retaining a durable IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The phone is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset and paired with 12GB of RAM and other variant with 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The thermal management system has been designed with a broader but thinner vapor chamber to maintain optimal performance under heavy tasking.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the phone’s 200MP main sensor, which Samsung claims delivers up to 40% better brightness in low-light settings compared to the standard Galaxy S25. It’s backed by a 12MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus that also supports macro photography. On the front, users get a 12MP selfie camera capable of crisp photos and high-quality video.
The Galaxy S25 Edge runs on Android 15 with One UI 7, integrating a suite of AI-powered tools. Features like multimodal AI agents, Google’s Circle to Search, and Samsung’s own Galaxy AI suite offering tools like Call Transcript, Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, and Audio Eraser which aims to increase productivity and creativity.
Samsung continues its commitment to long-term software support, promising seven years of Android OS updates and security patches for the S25 series.
