New Delhi, April 10: Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli has officially ended his long-time partnership with global sportswear brand Puma, marking the close of a significant chapter in his brand endorsement journey.
According to reports, Puma India confirmed the conclusion of its long-standing relationship with Kohli, who served as a brand ambassador for several years. The company acknowledged the partnership’s success, highlighting the numerous impactful campaigns and collaborations they shared.
“PUMA wishes Virat the best for his future endeavors. It was a wonderful association with him spanning over several years, featuring many outstanding campaigns and path-breaking product collaborations,” a spokesperson from the company said. The brand also reaffirmed its commitment to investing in the next generation of athletes and continuing to strengthen India’s sporting ecosystem.
As Kohli’s journey with Puma ends, he is reportedly set to begin a new chapter with Indian sports athleisure brand Agilitas. As per a report by livemint.com, Agilitas was founded in 2023 by former Puma India and Southeast Asia managing director Abhishek Ganguly. The brand focuses on producing and marketing sportswear both in India and internationally.
Agilitas has also made significant moves in the sports retail sector, including acquiring long-term licensing rights for the Italian brand Lotto in India, Australia, and South Africa.
The shift marks an exciting development in the sportswear industry, as one of India’s most marketable athletes aligns with an emerging homegrown brand.
