Collaboration underscores Samsung and Corning’s engineering innovation

Samsung Electronics has officially announced that its upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge will feature Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2 — a cutting-edge glass technology that sets new standards for mobile durability and design. Co-developed with Corning Incorporated, this advanced material brings together next-generation toughness and elegant slimness, tailored for today’s premium smartphone users.

As the slimmest device in the Galaxy S series to date, the S25 Edge demanded a display cover that could combine resilience with refined aesthetics. The new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 meets this challenge head-on with an engineered composition that integrates ultra-fine ceramic crystals into its glass structure. This innovation enhances crack resistance while maintaining excellent optical clarity.

Samsung and Corning’s partnership enabled the use of Corning’s specialized ion exchange process, further strengthening the glass and optimizing it for daily wear and tear. The result is a robust, stylish cover that aligns with the Galaxy brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and performance.

“This is a pivotal moment in mobile design,” said Kwangjin Bae, EVP and Head of Mechanical R&D at Samsung MX. “The Galaxy S25 Edge reflects our vision of delivering elegance and durability without compromise — a goal made possible by our collaboration with Corning.”

With Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, Samsung reinforces its leadership in mobile innovation, offering users a device that not only looks premium but stands up to life’s challenges.
